QHA offers a Jewish day school education for children from Shorashim (3-Year-Old Nursery) through Grade 8.

Each day balances rigorous general studies with immersive Judaic learning, helping students build academic confidence and a strong Jewish identity.
What is the curriculum at Queens Hebrew Academy?
QHA provides an outstanding dual curriculum in general and Judaic studies. General studies meet or exceed New York State standards and include core academics, enrichment, and support as needed. Students engage in STEM, the arts, hands-on and project-based learning. Hebrew instruction uses the TaL AM and Bishvil Ha-Ivrit programs to build confidence and fluency. Middle school students may take Regents-level courses such as Earth Science and Math 1.
How are students prepared for high school?
Students graduate with a strong academic foundation in both general and Judaic studies. Middle schoolers may complete Regents-level coursework, preparing them for competitive Jewish, private, or public high school environments.
Does QHA offer after-school programs?
Yes. After-school extracurriculars include sports, gardening, drama, chess, cooking, music, art, and more. We love giving students the opportunity to explore new interests beyond the classroom!
How long is the school day?
The school day begins at 8:00 AM and ends at 3:20 PM.
Is an extended day available?
Yes. Our extended day program runs Monday-Thursday until 6:30 PM, and on Fridays until 4:30 PM (daylight savings) or 2:30 PM (standard time). The program includes snacks and homework help in a supportive, supervised environment.
Is there a school dress code?
Students in grades K–8 follow a dress code that promotes a respectful, focused learning environment. Students are expected to dress in a clean, neat, and modest manner that reflects the dignity of a place of Jewish learning and prayer. Details are shared with families prior to the start of the school year.
Is transportation offered?
Yes, New York City provides free yellow school bus service to eligible students in grades K–6 who live within a five-mile radius of the school. Grades 7-8 may obtain a free or half-fare MetroCard for use on NYC public transportation through the school office.
What security measures are in place?
QHA maintains a comprehensive security program that includes full-time plainclothes security personnel, surveillance cameras, and coordination with the local police precinct.

Graduates attend leading Jewish and public high schools, including: North Shore Hebrew Academy, Abraham Joshua Heschel School, Ramaz Upper School, Townsend Harris, Stuyvesant, Bronx Science, Brooklyn Tech, Cardozo, Forest Hills, Francis Lewis, and Bayside High School.
